My Journey with FOND
After serious digestive issues led me to emergency surgery with the looming promise of another in just months, all with a newborn in tow, I was determined to change the trajectory of my life. I went on a five-week bone broth fast and felt better than I ever had before. The broths I made were like elixirs, sipped like coffee or tea, and I knew I needed to share this life-changing experience.
At my local farmers market, my broths were an instant hit, and that sparked my passion to provide others with the healing benefits of traditional foods. As my knowledge grew, I expanded into other nutrient-dense staples like tallow and lard, which have been a part of healthy diets for centuries but are largely missing from modern ones.
The result is our lineup of regenerative, hand-crafted bone broth, tallow, and lard, a mix of foundational foods that I hope will provide as much healing and nourishment for you as they did for me.
Ten years later, I never needed that second surgery, and it’s my mission to provide a healing seat at the table for as many people as possible.

FAQ
How is your bone broth made?
FOND is made by hand in small batches, just like you’d do at home. We start with real regeneratively sourced bones (sadly, many brands use a concentrate or powder) and slow-simmer them with water in a 1:1 ratio for 18+ hours, adding fresh herbs and spices along the way. Before jarring in glass, we skim the fat so that your broth takes on a versatile and beautifully clear consistency that you can use for recipes or sip on its own.
Are your products pasture-raised and grass-fed and finished?
Yes the beef products are 100% grass-fed and finished and the chicken and pork are pasture-raised.
Is FOND shelf-stable?
Yes! FOND is shelf-stable for 2 years from the manufacture date, and you'll find the expiration on the side of the jar. Our broths only need to be refrigerated once you've opened them. Once you open a jar, it'll be good for 4-7 days in the refrigerator.
If you don't think you'll use the extra in that time, you can easily freeze the remaining broth in an ice cube tray.

Why do you use glass jars?
Our decision to bottle in glass was made just like we do everything here at FOND; because it is better for your health and the health of our planet! Bottling in glass prevents chemicals and plastic from leeching into our broth or foundational fats. It also keeps plastic out of landfills, and it makes for a really delicious and pure flavor.
