In a large pot on medium high heat, add 10 oz of bacon and let it begin to cook and release fat. Once it has begun to release the fat, add the onion. Cook for 2-5 minutes, or until the onion has become a little translucent.
Add the green beans, bone broth, butter, salt, and pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover to cook for the next 45 minutes to 1 hour.
In a small skillet, cook the remaining 2 oz of bacon until crispy and then cool.
- Once the green beans, onions and bacon are all tender, you can remove them from the heat and serve! Garnish with the crispy bacon on top and enjoy warm.
