Stressless. It’s all in the name. Watch your stress melt away, sip by sip. Consider Stressless your "ahhhh" moment in a jar. With a synergistic infusion of calming spices like clove and star anise, this regeneratively-raised beef bone broth is designed to help you relax and unwind.
It’s the anti-anxiety broth we all need.
Hear how FOND’s Founder & CEO, Alysa, came up with this flavor:
“Have you ever sat down to a much anticipated cup of coffee and it just didn’t do it for you? Or worse, it made you feel MORE anxious and drained? At some point, the caffeine yo-yo, with cortisol spikes and crashes, leaves you more tired than at first sip! I wanted a drink that was THERE for me when I truly need to de-stress, sip by sip. When I think of my most nourishing moments, they are always in front of a bowl of warm soup, my favorite being a traditional Pho. This is my nod to the traditional Vietnamese Pho, filled with rich spices that help induce the feeling of stresslessness and encourage your body to unwind. Some spices like clove and star anise even have mild sedative properties! This is truly your “ahhhh” moment in a jar!”
Health benefits of basil, star anise and cinnamon
Basil
This fragrant herb is a cooking staple used in many Italian and Thai dishes. It makes a colorful and flavorful addition to meals, and it’s inclusion in Stressless is no different!
Basil is full of antioxidants that can help to fight free radicals in the body that would otherwise lead to cell damage and increase your risk for a variety of chronic health conditions, including cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and diabetes. Research done on basil essential oil even shows that it fights inflammation, another common cause of chronic disease.
And basil is also an adaptogenic herb, meaning it may help your body to better handle stress. That’s how it so wonderfully contributes to the anti-stress benefits that Stressless provides.
Star Anise
You may not have heard of star anise before, but it’s a spice made from the fruit of the Chinese evergreen tree, Illicium verum. Star anise is named for the star-shaped pods from which the spice seeds are harvested and has a flavor that is reminiscent of licorice.
Like basil, star anise is high in antioxidants, helping your body fight free radicals - particularly those that can cause oxidative stress in the skin. This helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, boost skin elasticity, and cover up old scars and blemishes to keep your skin looking young and vibrant.
Star anise also possesses mild sedative properties. Star anise can stimulate the release of certain neurotransmitters that induce relaxation and sleep, making this spice valuable for people who suffer from insomnia and regularly interrupted sleep patterns.
Finally, star anise has powerful antibacterial properties, making it great for improving your immune system.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is not only delicious, but has powerful benefits as well! And fun fact: you can utilize this spice all year long, not just in the fall 😉. Cinnamon is high in a compound called cinnamaldehyde, which is thought to be responsible for most of cinnamon’s health benefits.
Cinnamon has been shown to improve some key risk factors for heart disease, including cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure. It also may help to lower blood-sugar levels by interfering with certain digestive enzymes, slowing the breakdown of carbs in your digestive tract and ultimately decreasing the amount of glucose that enters your bloodstream after a meal.
Stressless, originally named Pho Starter, is perfect for traditional Thai dishes like our 15-Minute Low Carb Pho. Another way to enjoy it is to add fresh lime juice and a dash of fish sauce, then warm and enjoy in your favorite mug!
